The Secret Lives of Animals is a fun mix of field guide and entertainment. It has alot of information in an easy to read format. This book features over 100 North American animals and over 1,000 tidbits in a colorful, illustrated format.
This book is great for helping all children learn more about animals.
Take a look at the table of contents:
One thing about the illustrations is they are realistic. We have alot of squirrels active in our yard right now. We went to the index and then turned to page 203. An illustration of a flying squirrel greeted us. There was some basic information. This was followed by some little known facts, which we were familiar with. Then it tells you types, size, eats, eats them, and range. Our favorite bit was the go outside activity where we went and looked at our squirrels and watched them jump from tree to tree.
The animals are not in alphabetical order within their category. Squirrels were followed by Gophers.
The Secret Lives of Animals wants you to Go Outside
Observation of the animal in its native habitat is fun for all ages!
While this is available for kindle, for the extra dollar, I recommend the paperback version. Get yours on Amazon.
